[OPEN RP POST]
[Her motives were practical from the start. She and Pietro would join S.H.I.E.L.D. in exchange for safety and potentially the release of political prisoners. Other mutants. In exchange they would work for Director Fury in whatever capacity they were assigned.
They weren't to be trusted right away, however. Both she and Pietro were former terrorists. They had worked under their father, the head of the Brotherhood of Mutants and while perhaps the blood wasn't directly on her hands as it was on Pietro's, they were both culpable for their actions. Wanda understood Fury's attempt to keep them out of sight for the time being. They had much to make up for before he'd risk associating their names with the Avengers.
But they had eventually proven themselves, just as the others had before that, in their unfailing support of the team. She, with her hexes, and Pietro, with his speed, had turned the tides of battle time and again and proven themselves to be heroes, equals of the Avengers and deserving of public recognition as part of the team.
Wanda had always had her pride, as a mutant, as someone who was supposed to be better than mere humans, but it had been a cold thing compared to what she felt as an active member of the Avengers. They were a different kind of people from those she and her brother had worked with before. There was true teamwork there, intent to work toward a greater good rather than personal gain or glory. They put themselves on the line, their lives on the line for it, and Wanda couldn't help but secretly be moved by their dedication to good.]

He believes in the best of people, but he won't let her off that easy. So Peter's homework and pizza deliveries will have to wait.]
I don't know yet, I have to see how it ends and that'll probably depend largely on you. So it'd be really nice if you can give me a bit of a spoiler. New York, New York, y'know. Time's money and all that.

She's not used to being questioned like this. Truthfully it does grate on her somewhat to have to stand there and answer his questions, but she is attempting to work with people on this side, not against them for once. Wanda gives him a look and a sigh, but she answers.]
My brother and I have been working for S.H.I.E.L.D. for some months now, and recently have joined the Avengers Initiative. [And they're not hiding them away when the cameras come out!] So now we live here, and work here for the protection of Earth and everyone who lives on it.
[Even the humans, gasp!
She arches a brow at him.]
Will that suffice?

[He shrugs, and if they're not good enough, it's on the Avengers' heads. He'll be there, of course. And maybe even the Fantastic Four if they're not too busy. New York is 55% superheroes now-a-days anyway. Someone will be there. He looks out at the passer-bys, normal people, observing this odd exchange. He considers himself normal still. A teenager still. What do normal teenagers do?
He waves, and gives the peace sign and hope for the best. Should they shake hands? Show unity? Maybe that'll raise his poor public image. Or it'll drag Wanda's down. Peter stands on his perch and keeps waving.]
... I'm gonna apologize in advance for whatever the Bugle's gonna write about us. It's not you, it's me.
Hey, welcome to New York.

Thank you, but what do you expect they'll write about us?
[Because she'll need to get to Pietro first if it's anything that might upset him.]
